Reduce Anxiety this Holiday Season

It’s about that time of year. Christmas is just around the corner, which means the house will soon be filled with family members and heaps of delicious food. While the holiday season is a time of celebration and making memories with family, it can also be an obstacle and a source of anxiety for those who are trying to reach energy, health, hormone, and weight-loss goals. However, if you are one of those people with anxiety or food-guilt, I am here to tell you that there is a way that you can fully enjoy this holiday season while remaining peaceful and guilt-free-- along with give you little gift of my own! 

Getting the satisfaction from a flavorful meal while also adding really great nutrients to your body is totally possible! It is as simple as substituting nutrient-packed, flavorful side dishes for the ones that are loaded with sugars and starchy-carbs. Now I know what some of you are already thinking. "Is it really going to taste as good?” One of the biggest myths today in healthy eating is that healthy food is not or cannot be as flavorful as unhealthy food. It is definitely possible, especially in this day and age where you can find recipes instantly at the touch of a button.   

So what are some great resources and websites that you can get really flavorful recipes that also cut out the gluten, sugar, and dairy that your body does not need? In the spirit of the holidays, I would love to give you my 4 Healthier Holiday Breakfast Smoothie Recipes, along with share some of my personal favorite resources with you! Danielle Walker has a beautiful website called Against All Grain that is full of gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free, paleo, and vegetarian meals that also carry that flavor your tastebuds can’t go without.  Wellness Mama is another great site by a young mom named Katie who writes to make healthy living easy, fun, and inexpensive for families. At Wellness Mama, Katie offers real food meal plans for families along with an archive of healthy, nutritious recipes. Mommypotamus is also written by a mom who has implemented health living into her family and wants to inspire others to do the same. These websites are a great start for bringing nutritious meals into your family, and what better time to start doing it than the holiday season? With these meals, you can enjoy this holiday season the right way with both flavor and nutrition!
